Noise Cameras

Lehigh Valley Live did an Article on Noise Cameras.

According to the article "Allentown streets could soon be covered by "noise cameras" that would detect and cite vehicles that violate a municipality’s noise ordinance."

Or this one

Somehow these cameras would detect loud noises, mufflers etc and violators could be cited. A camera and microphone are used to capture offenders so they can be cited, I am assuming by taking a photo of the actors license plate.

Other failing cities in the country have implemented these devices.
Councilman Napoli is taking a break from selling womans clothing to try and address the concerns and complaints people have been giving him since he started on council.

He wants $20,000 for a pilot program in an already struggling budget. My prediction for a spoiler alert is a 2-8% tax increase proposal next month.

Santo thinks this technology would free up some city employees, am assuming he means the police force who already do nothing to combat this issues. Can technology issue tickets? If so, I hope the fines aren't like the Sweep ticket program or no one will pay them.

Chief Roca says this will greatly help to fight noise complaints which is a huge issue in the city.

Then he has to put the blame on the fact he says his force is dozens short vs admitting his officers cant enforce laws from parking lots sleeping.

YEAH, RIGHT... just like all the cameras that we already have that it's patently obvious that NO ONE looks at! Fireworks set off right under the camera, cars speeding thru stop signs and red lights... those should be easy pick-ins for anyone. The fart can muffler cars are already illegal under our current state inspection regulations as are cars with altered (lowered and off camber) suspensions, but our non-policing police look the other way... such a joke and easy money and one way to clean up the streets. These cars can't even go over a stone in the road without bottoming out! HEAVEN FORBID they should piss somebody off!!!
The cameras worked quite well when someone was suing the city... they had gobs of video and observed THAT video... but that suited their narrative. This city is completely bass ackwards.

I've seen that first car and it had chief Roccas second mother on his sister's side operating his distribution center out of the backside in the 500blk of Morris Street. Not to mention another one Jennings/Doncunningham properties parking lot being the allowable opperation center. Than there is the fact that allentown economic development took that property to stop exactly what they are allowing daily and financed by HUD while working with local bankers washing the monies for said chiefs second mother on his sister's side? He is just following in the footsteps of one of the other chiefs that is now at the next level of hell going up as well as the local democratic chair?

Love it ABE!)$?

I would love to get the stats from the chief on noise tickets given out. I bet it's pathetic. Maybe Napoli can find cameras that will identify illegals and then mail them back to their country.

12:18 do a RTK request. Anyone can. You should get a response in several months or a year.

Two things, it seems clear the mayor has directed the police not to enforce nuisance crimes. He has made several public statements that seem to back this up. Second, if Napoli doesn't want to seriously engage a solution to the outrageously loud noise pollution that is working in other cities, he needs to leave his cozy, deep west end sidestreet residence and experience what the rest of us have to live with daily. FYI, it sounds like a speedway with ongoing gunfights. The combination of high speed driving, deafening backfire mufflers, and blaring car stereos pose a serious health and public safety threat to city residents(except those who live in the exclusive west end). Get a clue Napoli! You are supposed to be the smart person on council. Admittedly that is an extremely low bar but just try for once to do what is in the best interests of average residents rather than the vague, "greater good" that serves only special interests. P.S. Matt, loud car stereos, backfire mufflers, littering, and disorderly conduct are anti social behaviors associated with adolescent males. It is not "cultural as you routinely insinuate.

For once, I agree with everything you said, except this does happen in the West End but to a much lesser degree. Hamilton is a speedway between 24th and 19th.

Napoli isn't that smart. Just a good talker and bullshitter. One of the Mayor's many puppets.

Yes, Hamilton is a problem.

That loud music you're hearing isn't loud mufflers it's the "heartbeat" of the Lehigh Valley.

Alan Jennings a saint in what universe do you come from? This man has a study done and than infect the entire area with the exact infections he claims to be the cure. This man is and always has been a oxymoron since his incubation as the homelessness cure, don't even get me started on his infection that has grown valley wide and beoned. Most offices are just fronts for some sorted business dealings.

Lets put an art sculpture on Hamilton.

Did you see the new statue placed in the 900blk of Hamilton St?   "The Abduction of Psyche” was placed outside the Archer Music Hall ...
