So I decided to go watch the Peep Drop in Bethlehem instead of risk an Allentown NYE disappointment.
Peeps fest has much better parking as well as that safety factor. Fireworks and a great crowd

Did anyone go to 7th/Ham for the puck drop? I heard the drone aerial display was just okay. Not like the drone displays in other countries. But here are some photos.
There appeared to be a decent amount of people there. The crowd was alot of locals combined with some phantoms fans.
I didnt want to worry about parking, and I knew the police presence wouldn't be strong. So that ruled me out of heading there. Also after living in the city for a long time, I know it is common for people to shoot guns in the air at midnight. Yea not getting hit with a stray bullet.
Im curious who forked the bill for this party? Im going to guess the Phantoms didnt throw much out.
Should the city be spending money on aerial display drones and throwing a big party when their is no Budget? Yea I know Tuerk said he was passing the budget starting today.
Yes, I know he his violating the home rule charter section 807. I hope someone investigates this.

This is the problem with the far-left lunatics. Whenever something that is negative, but the truth is stated about a low budget politician like Matt Tuerk, the immediate response is to claim it is due to skin color or other characteristics. They try so hard to find anything that will support their claims of a violation of civil rights protections..

Matt Tuerk is simply a horrible politician and even worse mayor of this city. There is plenty of evidence showing how just how out of touch and unqualified he is to be mayor and your claims of hate being a motivator are asinine. The fact that many of his employees don’t like him or his management team says all I need to know.
The Allentown Truth blog has brought to the surface many of the problems plaguing this city, and they all lead back to Matt Tuerk’s mismanagement and lack of leadership.

I am not sure what software the drone show was using, but the LEDs glitched quite a few times and at one point it just said Happy | |_ \ Y|-_| ! It may be time to update from Windows 95 if you're brought back next year.
The puck drop doesn't make sense other than to bring attention to the biggest money scam in PA ...THE NIZ. Without the NIZ, Allentown wouldn't have the PPL Center or the Phantoms. Allentown isn't known for hockey, it would make more sense to drop an effigy of Billy Joel each New Year's. Or just leave the drops to Easton and Bethlehem, the Lehigh Valley cities with more character and relevance.
Overall, the NYE celebration: 3/10
