Its fun to stay at the YMCA!!

Allentown YMCA warming station

Ironically, Mr. Tuerk decided to extend the homeless camp eviction to Sept 29 after being baraided by angry homeless supporters and looking like a dictator.

Mayor is quoted

"This extension allows us to coordinate the transition so that individuals who would normally rely on the YMCA have a safe place to go the day they leave the encampment,” Mayor Tuerk said. “It balances compassion with our responsibility to protect people from foreseeable harm.” - WFMZ site

What is this foressable harm? When is the last time a rouge wave, flash flood or tsunami hit Allentown?  Sure we have seen flooding.  But there was plenty of notice.  Also the amount of rain it would take to flood over the banks where those people are located would be insane.

I feel Tuerk insults the homeless acting like they wouldnt be smart enough to leave if they saw the water rising.  No Matt, they are all idiots and will wait until they are washed down the river.

Tuerk goes on and says

"But we believe that the significant progress in relocating residents, combined with increased safety measures, makes this 35-day extension the safest and most humane course of action.” -WFMZ site

Matt I'm sorry but you already have shown your true feelings. Your quick action to evict homeless people and make them more homeless is inhumane. There are no take backs when messing with peoples lives. As stated you had to wait to be embarrassed to change your mind.

The mayors inept ability to be humane and logical brought D.C civil rights activist attorneys to the last council meeting. One of the attorneys Jessica Saxton posted on her Facebook a video of assistant Chief Gress sending a text message to the city right-to-know officer Sarah.  Gress was asking if she knew who the guy with the glasses was standing by the wall.  I believe Gress was referring to one of the D.C attorneys.

I am thinking Gress was concerned with the possibility that the Allentown Police might be violating the rights of the homeless by kicking them out.

Speaking of rights being violated, does anyone remember the Scott Curtis investigation into the discrimination and harassment of city employees that has been forgotten about? Wouldnt it be something if these civil rights attorneys recieved a copy of that report?  Thats another story. But I'll give you a little spoiler. I'd venture to guess something on that investigation is coming out soon. 🤷‍♂️

Whatever the case may be this whole homeless issue has made Allentown look like a joke to the area.

☆☆☆Remember Wed council votes on the 134 million dollar bond that will not in my opinion benefit the city that much.  Please attend the meeting and voice your opinion.  Your taxes will go up for sure if this passes.  ☆☆☆

I cant believe what is going on in this city. This Mayor is so unqualified to run this city. His ego is getting bigger and bigger. He is losing votes faster than he knows. If this Bill passes, two things are happening. First myself and family arent voting for him again and second we are moving. I am not paying for the huge tax increase.

This local administration incubated the issue via grants and now are claiming a cure. This has been a local federal monies grab for years and the monies is never gets were it's needed.

They need to release the Scott Curtis files asap. We paid for that investigation!

They should not release the Scott Curtis investigation. Curtis was not authorized by the Mayor and Council to perform any investigation. Scott is similar to that low budget “reporter” Jackie on 69News, they had fame under the Palowski mess and have been riding the wave ever since. They are looking for the next Allentown scandal to hopefully remain relevant in their own minds.

Your comment sounds like your from the mayors office being told by the mayor to discredit Curtis and Ms. Farris. Or maybe you are Matt himself. If so, please comment under Matt Tuerk. That would be fun for my followers.
But your saying council didnt vote on the investigation? And the mayor wasnt for it at first, Until he realized how damming the actual report would be to his re-election?

The Curtis investigation will prove something that the Duane Morris investigation won’t. It will prove that there is discrimination, retaliation, and intimidation in the City leadership. The Duane Morris investigation is there to protect the city and provide Matt Tuerk a formalized hit list. Matt does not like anyone who challenges him or his protected harem on the fifth floor led by his 27yr old Dunkin barista. He weaponizes his cabinet and dirty legal office to deliver his punishments to those not in line with Matt’s way. .

Back to the homeless being moved to the YMCA:

Why is it ok to move the homeless from one neighborhood to another neighborhood?

They were congregating in Jordan Parkway, and causing problems in the adjacent residential neighborhood. Now they’re being moved into another residential neighborhood (where the Y is located), and one that presumably doesn’t have anyone wealthy enough to sue the city to stop it.

Wouldn’t the better plan be to keep the homeless out of residential areas and get them the help they need (either in nonresidential areas or outside the city)?

I realize this setup is lucrative for the YMCA, but just moving the problem to another area isn’t a solution. Does Tuerk’s City Hall do anything to actually protect ANY neighborhood in the city, on ANY issue?

This is just another failure by Tuerk. Not surprising.

No the YMCA isnt a solution. Its just to satisfy all the pissed off people. Thats all he cares about. Hes firm on his Sept date so lets see what happens. What is it going to look like when 100 homeless people walk out of Y during morning rush hour? Awful for them and awful for the passerbys and the neoghborhood. Tuerk doesnt care. Such a disappointment.

Curtis is a professional beyond reproach.

Tuerk has been an inept posier since day one. He’s an absolutely awful manager.

People going by on 15th. St. will barely notice. The Y isn’t located in what is really a “residential neighborhood”.

Tuerk surrounds himself with inept leaders and advisors and doesn’t have the management or leadership skills to hold them accountable. He fires people through his HR and Solicitor because he is weak. Most often he fires because they didn’t do what he wanted

If you think the Y isn’t really in a residential area, you are clueless and likely work in the Mayor’s Office. It’s certainly more of a residential area than where the homeless are currently (along the Jordan Creek).

It’s also already a problem in the winter, with people lining up outside the Y along the street (in the dark) and then leaving to filter into the neighborhoods around the Y come morning.

It’s supposed to be a gym, not a homeless shelter. Those running the Y are selling out their members for an easy buck, and should be removed from their board positions.

I'm not sure who is making your meme's but they are top notch.

Honest Abe said...

Thank you. I have way more fun doing them than writing the blog. Thursday's meme is going to be great.

Turek should be the night sitter as he can't even due the job he was appointed for by cheating mail in ballots. This was all paid for via tax dollars and his mentors grant grab get to give shit. AJ has been doing for the area his hole life, aj has been champing for the homeless and his Inc has become a multi million dollar land holdings according to Unger eX Zoneing official.

What the hell are you saying? You make a absolutely no sense at all.

I assume hes referencing Alan Jennings, who I feel is another individual living large off of taxes and donations.

Curtis was not authorized and his results have no merit. He is the equivalent of a gossip girl and nothing else. I question his “professionalism” when he pushed forward with interviews without an approved city contract. It is more likely that he was aiding Zucal to dig up dirt to use against the administration in his failed mayoral campaign.

Thats funny since the mayor agreed to pay him for the work he did. Learn your facts

Yes that would be the charleton Jennings Inc as well as one of his board members that also sat on the zoning hearing board to pass all the conflicts!
A polowski cheerleader because birds of a feather flock together as they fleece the public of theft of services for personal gain?

The Y is on the edge of a residential neighborhood on one side. It is not “in a residential neighborhood”. I’ve never worked for the City of Allentown and lived in the neighborhood adjoining the YMCA for many years.
It saddens me to see what has become of this once primary Allentown facility.

Jennings has been the reliable voice of the little people for several generations. Without Jennings they would have been totally lost.
Jennings is a humble, selfless servant of the people his entire career.

blah blah blah the guy is annoying

Jennings profited by making the problem that he was supposed to be solving worse.

His work caused ever-increasing poverty in the city but provided him with a steady income stream.

I love both the Bernie and Mike blogs but this blog has become my absolute favorite! The thin-skinned social justice warrior mayor McPronoun must be lampooned. As with many electeds his skill sets lie solely in winning popularity contests (elections) by pandering to the free shit army and those who embrace the freeloaders to keep their "party" in power. That he identifies as latino because his abuela is of Latino descent ranks him right up there with Elizabeth "Pocahontas" Warren in the poser department. Both aspire to credential themselves with made up identifiers that work to mask deficiencies in areas like vocational usefulness.

Carry on! This is an effort that is well worth it!

Alan Jennings is a leech and has been for years.

Bernie can be great but he’s willing to tell the occasional lie to advance his agenda.
MM is a straight shooter 100% of the time.
Your blog is a welcome addition to the loyal opposition.
Thank you.

Alan Jennings is a practically a saint who has devoted his entire life to helping the poor and dispossessed while asking nothing for himself.
He is as humble as he was effective.
Just ask him. he’ll tell you.

Yeah, but the Hipster Mayor had grandmother who taught him that prejudice was wrong, and don’t you forget that.

I have never seen a dumber decision in my life.

Well the six sheep kissed the mayors ass again.  Al Bundy, Borat, Rosie O'Donnell, Beyonce, AOC and Oprah all supported the 134 millio...
