I would like to welcome the two new councilmembers to the show. I am going to tell you a little bit of what I know about them.
First Cristian Pongo.
Well he is very young. No experience, but look at the Dias. Elmo could sit up there. Anyways, I hear he is very intelligent, and motivated to bring some new ideas. Bring a younger point of view.
What we do know for sure is, he works for Alvin Butz. You know the construction guy who gets all the big contracts in the city.

Pungo’s platform is focused on “Building Up Allentown” through greater investments in affordable housing, infrastructure, public safety, and economic and educational opportunities.
Next Jeremy Binder
His platform from what I can tell is that he wants more involvement with the community and their issues. A noble cause. He owns a local IT and security company.
I am curious to see who these two align with. Mota (if she doesnt switch back to the loyalists), Santos, and Gerlach, or the Mayors besties Napoli and Affa.
These two have big shoes to fill replacing Daryl Hendricks vote switching and loyalty to Tuerk and Slick Eddy Zucals cut throat to the truth attitude. The Springer Council show must go on.
Their first test will be shortly, when Tuerk tries to pass his 4% budget (aka the Temper Tantrum Budget) with who knows what strings will be attached. Will they show loyalty to Tuerk or tell him to quit giving his cabinet raises and control his spending.
I wanted to give these two a chance before I say anything negative and hopefully I won't have too.

I hope the two new guys do the right thing, when Tuerk is breathing down their necks. I did see a hazardous waste crew cleaning up the council chambers after last nights speech lmao
I find it a breath of fresh air that Mr. Pungo stated that he would not vote for a budget that he didn't have a chance to review and was very disappointed the city couldn’t pass a budget. This could finally be the start of a informed council if he continues in this manner. I have no problem with the passing of a budget that is honestly presented. Something Matt has not done in any years so far. So, I am cautiously optimistic that this may not be the rubber stamp council we had previously. ⚠️
The best part of the evening was when Hendricks left. It is so nice knowing his incompetence is no longer going to be on display.
I am concerned about Napoli being the President of Council. I don’t trust that he has fully seen the administrations BS.
The mayor? Ugh. His speech about showing up for employees is an absolute lie. He and his demon have spent the last four years trying to back employees into a compliance cage. That is why he made the demon HR for almost a year.

Napoli is Tuerk 2.0 but he said the council rules will be changing, which is a breath of fresh air. Maybe we’ll be allowed to address Affa when she is muttering under her breath or screaming to shut up.
