I thought the Chief Roca Police Station would have been started by now. I would be highly shocked if anyone would think naming it after him was a good itea. But, is the delayed groundbreaking due to the snow that they keep pushing to different areas of the city? We also know that Mayor Tuerk cant get anyone to invest in the city, so his idea of economic growth is using tax dollars to build a new $45 million police station for his loyal servant Chief Roca, and another $70 million on a Fire station and Health Bureau for Kistler and Agosto (two other, yes sir, right away sir)
What Mayor Tuerk is failing to capitalize on is a company like Lilly could have funded a not needed police station, a cheaper fire station, and a couple redbox units for the health bureau.
Like who is in charge of running the economic growth department for the city? The maintain the low level standards set by Tuerk, honestly they suck at their jobs. Business tax dollars should be funding new municipal buildings, not the tax payers.
Mark my words. This city is going to have to increaee taxes 6-12% each year for the next 4 years.
Now that the SEIU contract sucked up 2% of the 4% tax increase, wait for the greedy police to ask for more in their contract which is up at the end of the year. Will Matt be as generous with Police as he was with his Fire Union? As we saw some of these guys leaving last year with $100k pensions. Wait until you see what the chiefs pensions are if the Lieutenants are getting 100k. Ill be sure to post it all.
Also, whats going on with the water? Why is LCA asking people to conserve water in the winter? Thats a summer thing. Has there been a rush to wash salt off cars? Does Allentown have a shortage of water? I did hear there was a water main break somewhere. Maybe the city could elaborate on this issue before this becomes a disaster.
We all know how Matt doesn't miss a moment of chaos and is a master at creating disasters in Allentown.

What is funny about the water conservation request is that there are 3 data centers in the area waiting to be approved by the LVPC. Think electricity and water costs are a lot now? Just wait.

I am begining to worry more and more about the taxes in this city, especially after recieving the post card from the mayor telling me that it's better you get this increase in taxes with installments each year instead of all at once.
