Who is running the city? While the mayor is on his third, fourth or fifth trip of the year, at this point who’s counting. Washington DC, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, NYC, Austin Texas… my question is who is running this city?
My sources tell me Michaela Boyer is the deputy mayor, but I also don’t believe she “shows up” using the mayors overused catch phrase. So I’ll ask again… who is running the city?

Because no-one can even say for sure who Is even up in the mayor’s office anyways? I hear he hasn’t replaced Laura Ballek Cole or Genesis Ortega yet. That much is clear. Maybe Tuerk is going back to the basics. We all know it was ridiculous for him to be traipsing around the city with his little entourage of young, pretty girls. Part of me wonder if he just can't get anyone to want to work for the mayor’s office? Would you? It is the equivalent of being in steerage on the Titanic at this point. Long ago it used to be an honor, nowadays, you wear it like a scarlet letter.
That should tell you everything you need to know.

We know the Controller isn’t paying attention to the mayor’s city funded getaways. If he had, we may not have been hit with the tax increase. But then again, the Controller and his assistant have been on retirement mode for at least nine years and are just waiting to finish the current term.
I certainly hope that the mayor isn’t leaving city operations to someone with only Starbucks barista experience. I pray it is not true and this post is satirical. Although it would explain why the snow cleanup failed.
I do appreciate how Ed Zucal in his car keeps appearing. He is certainly missed. He was the only voice in Council and did not just pass whatever the mayor sends forward.
It was an honor to work in many offices in City Hall long ago. Now places like Finance, IT and the Solicitors office in addition to the mayor’s office are led by complete morons who continue to bring morale and competence to an even lower low each year.
The only department in City Hall that has remained a complete wasteland of idiots is HR. They all deserve an award for mediocrity, laziness and incompetence….and continuity of failed operations.

I noticed that since Laura left the city stopped engaging as much with the community. CHAT stopped completely.
She was an amazing asset that was let go. No one will ever be able to replace her and her passion for Allentown. Both ladies are irreplaceable.
Laura used to come to meet with us, and I felt like we knew more about what was happening on the fifth floor when she was around. Otherwise I feel like we dont know anything that is happening. It’s not like the higher ups are sharing anything with us. They have no idea what it’s like to be on the streets day in and day out. Morale is in the toilet and I hope that maybe they start to think about city employees and not just the ones that work in city hall just my two sense
The mayor is so disliked by employees and I have heard that the directors also don’t like him. We are counting down until he is gone.

It would be nice to have someone who actually has lived and invested in Allentown for years as opposed to another opportunistic carpetbagger.

Hyman is a slumlord and not Mayor material. We don’t need any more losers running Allentown. It’s about time we get someone Is capable.
And sadly, this mayor is a cardboard cut out from a toilet paper roll.
The Toothless Pothole Crusader was riding around Allentown on his tricycle while filming for his most recent social media live talking about how he hates potholes.
Does he know if you remove SNOW from STREETS that potholes are less likely to appear in roadways?
I live in Hyman’s building and it is beautiful and well maintained. I am very happy here. I’m have also met him and think he is very smart. The guy has taken Allentown’s blighted buildings and made them into attractive and affordable living units. That is exactly what everyone is crying out for. But guys like you, who have never set foot in his buildings, still criticize him. You don’t know what you’re talking about and I’m sure you’ve done nothing. You’re the loser !
By what standard is Mr. Hyman a “loser” and “not capable”? He is obviously very successful and smart and has rebuilt Allentown. What do you do…shovel shit?
