A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on S. 4th St. Shocking
A large group of people took over Hamilton St. Basically acting like complete assholes. Watch for yourself. No police action taken from what I saw. Commentator does a great job describing the situation.

The police station was evacuated for the day. I wonder why? Was their a gas leak? Or was the Mayor flushing too many files down the toilet and clogged it. Power outage? Was Dunkin Donuts handing out free 🍩 🍩? Its odd all operations stopped there. No one knows. News never did a follow up? Suspect of that.
There were flyers placed on vehicles on the East Side of Allentown. The flyers encouraged people to call Immigration on Sept. 30 if they see someone they think illegal.
Cece Gerlach called the flyer "despicable." She stated the Lehigh Valley Immigration Rapid Response will be on hand. If you do not know what the Rapid Response is, it is basically a local group of people that protect immigrant communities from ICE. Of course Gerlach supports this. Nevermind the fact their are illegal immigrants and illegals with warrants living here.
Gerlach stated:
“It is despicable, and it really speaks to the climate that we are living in where everyone is struggling between gas and groceries and some people’s answer is to blame folks who may have came here from a different country, as though they are the reason why they are broke,” Gerlach said in an interview.
I did not see the flyers but, it seems they were directed at illegals. Illegals with warrants. Those who dont pay taxes, yet benefit from tax funded schools, free healthcare, etc. Go thru the citizen process to becoming legal like all of my ancestors did. Nothing is free CeCe. Someone has to cover their bills. Quit being such a liberal socialist.
Mayor Tuerks response was he is dedicated to supporting residents. Blah blah blah. He wont be saying that when he raises taxes.
He also stated:
"We’re not going to let anybody intimidate residents of the city of Allentown." Like he intimidates the employees of the City.?

Flock system is again being scrutinized. Now council spent $10,000 to have a company tell them what we already know. Yes the system tracks you throughout the city. Yes the police can use it for means outside of official work. Yes I am sure they probably dont get monitored as much as they should. But will the study actually matter? What is the city going to do? Get rid of Flock?

The now VERY OBVIOUS lack of policing in Allentown is seriously concerning. Laws are brazenly being broken every day. Not only do people living within the city limits notice this (how can they not?) but so do most everyone living outside the city.
How in the world does that failed city expect outsiders to venture in for commerce or entertainment?
So, why the silence? Where’s the local news media to question the rapidly declining quality of life in Allentown’s neighborhoods? There SHOULD be outrage by citizens, merchants, parents, and any others who actually pay property taxes.
Your city is making itself a “No Go” zone. WHY?
Matt or Cece probably put those letters on the East side so they could get some free publicity. I found the letters informative and not at all racist. I appreciate the number to ensure those breaking the law are turned into ICE.

There was also a shooting on Friday at 16th and Union Streets. 1:30 in the afternoon.
Two vehicles involved, with 3-4 HIGH SCHOOL students taking part. Supposedly an arrest was made. Not that you’d read or hear anything about ANY of it in the local media.
About 4-5 shots fired, luckily before the nearby elementary and middle schools let out or there would have been many children walking on the sidewalks.
As it was, nobody hit. But not for a lack of trying.
Them finely raised children were looking in college academics with the fine mayor's guidance and tootaldge at his residence just before this incident. In reality he was just teaching the lower academics of how to fire guns with his gold tooth gleaming because he wants a new grille just like his fine young agents.
Two observations regarding the alleged "anti-Latino leaflets" and lack of law enforcement in Allentown:
1. I personally can understand the frustration property owners have with the ethnic transition of Allentown's neighborhoods and the dramatically different and incompatible cultural customs introduced by new residents. However, if the City would do a better job of patrolling neighborhoods and enforcing quality of life regulations there's no reason new residents and older incumbent residents couldn't co-exist peacefully.
2. For a Mayor who made traffic and pedestrian safety a hallmark of his administration, Tuerk and law enforcement are doing a terrible job on this front and the City streets are now far more dangerous than ever. Lack of enforcement has led to Traffic Anarchy, as vehicles speed, ignore stop signs and blow through red lights routinely in all Allentown neighborhoods.

I was at an event last week and not a single person in the room had anything nice to say about this mayor. People were talking about how low budget he is and how he is a horrible mayor. When he would walk by people would just laugh at him.
Does he not know that no one really likes him? Or does he think he’s so popular and funny because people laugh at him? Even Mayor Mamdani left him off the Mayor’s Summit Social at the Gracie Mansion.

Was there not supposed to be an appeals court hearing about releasing the Curtis report? Was it not covered by media, was the hearing continued/rescheduled, or did it just go away for whatever reason (like, the status change in the City - Whitehead case)? I haven’t seen a word.
