Here is an example of accountability the city leaders always talk about doing. You only need to read the 2nd and 3rd pages. But a brief summary. A firefighter took a city fire vehicle out of the city and got a $300 ticket. I am not sure what the ticket was for, but nevertheless the controller questions fire Chief Agosto and you can read his response. Disgusting.
Why isnt the mayor stepping in? The employee needs to pay the fine, not the tax payers. Since said employee hasnt fessed up to the violation he/she should be fired. Can the firefighters commit crimes now and get away with them? I thought that was reserved only for the police. Just because the union will file a grievance nothing will be done? Who cares, file one. Agosto should grow a backbone and control his men. His excuse is lame. His firefighters can just take vehicles wherever they want and no one knows who or what they are using it for? Yea okay. This my friends is called corruption.

I have a basic education but it seems that the is chief saying that rules can be broken as long as the investigation into the situation costs less than the cost to city taxpayers.
Is that what he is really trying to say? Is he serious? “I mean, who cares it’s not my money”
In so much this seems to be a bus drive by while the flashing red lights were on with children unloading? I have seen afd battalion chief vehicles as far as carbon county and that seems to be a long way for the tax payers dime!
Another example of corruption. Police chief isnt the only dirty chief I see. Kudos to Glazier for trying to do right with tax payer money.
I am tired of hearing the Police Chief is dirty. I have yet to see or hear anything that would lead me to feel negatively about Chief Roca. In fact I think he is a capable and quality public servant.
I don't think the Fire chief is dirty either. Complacent, lazy, and clearly afraid of the union? Absolutely. Probably not fire chief material.
Shame on the finance department and controller for allowing the city funds to be used to pay the purchase card bill. They should have denied the expense and told the fire chief to figure it out. If he didn’t want to invest the time into investigation deduct the funds from his check and watch how fast he finds the firefighter that was driving. Agosto is ultimately responsible for the department.
Agosto you must go. You are corrupt. "You said I do not think an employee should have to pay for an error in judgement." What!!! No its only the law Freddie.
We all know how and why he got the Chief's job. DEI !
They're always naming the cops when something happens. What's the Fireman's name?
What about the damage they cause uninblazed properties because of there circus acts. I personally watched while building was ablaze and firemen waited for the news to set up cameras before one drop of water was put on the blaze, that was allentowns rentable uninhabitable blight.
Out of curiosity, how many times is the mayor's office going to be mentioned in a controller report for not following the procedures for the purchase card? Sounds to me like his staff should have the credit cards cancelled.
Here idea if chief won’t make employee pay then he should pay the bill!!! Accountability!! Terrible leadership !!
