Pawlowski thoughts?

I am getting alot of messages about residents wanting Ed Pawlowski to run again for mayor.  Legally, I dont think he ever can unless his crimes get pardoned.  But he could be the Managing Director of the city for the next mayor. Especially since the idea of taking term limits away will never pass. The guy seems to have instant popularity again. So...

“Should Ed Pawlowski run again for Allentown Mayor if he can?" Would he clean house too?  Sound off in the comment section below

Major no for me...I dont like the optics of Fed Ed in City Hall. He has lost the trust of those residents/voters who have a clue.. He needs to move on.

Ed Pawlowski as mayor gutted the voter passed initiative Rental Inspections program which after it's first five year cycle uncovered hundreds of illegal and substandard units. Ed claimed to be all about building communities, this action proved he truly didn't care about the community, he only cared about his political future. This is just one example of his expedieancy over sound solutions. Like Matt, his actions were guided by the need to build a resume in order to achieve a higher political office. We were just a stepping stone. Ed needs to find a job outside of government. There is plenty of talent out there to fill city positions. Unfortunately those doing the hiring are never looking for the best. Ending that cycle needs to stop. Ed is a good place to start.

One more point, cities our size do not need both a full time city manager and a full time mayor. Ed started that after claiming in his first campaign he could manage the city better than his opponent. He betrayed that when one of his first actions as mayor was to hire a full time city manager. Pre ious mayors saw the job of mayor as a part time position, Bill Heydt managed the city in the morning, than ran his very successful insurance practice in the afternoon.

The new majority of Allentown residents will vote for ANY candidate who they think less likely to interfere with the flow of “free stuff” into their lives. Be honest, in Allentown the takers now outnumber the makers. Same happening in many other Democrat managed cities. The floodgates have been opened.

Absolutely yes! Can he just kick Tuerk out and finish his term too?
I don't think the conviction allows him to run and the term limits as well.

Definitely NO! To letting Tuerk run for a third term! Who does he think he is? Trump? For a man who protested against Trump, many times, he sure does seem to follow in his footsteps often.

Scott.
I completely agree with you that there is no need for a city manager for Allentown. Tuerk may have only hired one because his preference is to be absent during his entire second term while he is looking for a new job on the taxpayers money .

MAGA Matt acts exactly like Trump. Rules apply to everyone but him and he loves posting about himself on social media

There is really no need for the staff in the mayor’s office. The positions were created to reward his friends…quite well. A comms manager and assistant are all that is needed.

For the love of God, get rid of the DEI Coordinator. Almost as big of a waste as the Civic Innovations Manager.

Hey Scott. Do a little research. Cities the size of Allentown typically have a Mayor and Manager. Get over your dated 2005 thinking and smarten up. Whatever you did in your career isn't likely how things are done now. The world is a far more complicated place and requires thinking on the front end.

yea, no. Met the guy once when he was doing one of his "tour and inspect a neighborhood" walk-abouts. I was told he would be in my neighborhood when I had a beef with the city about a minor problem. I was told this by an underling who didn't seem to want to hear about my problem and got a little snide. I was told "well, if you don't like it why don't you talk to the mayor yourself, he'll be in your neighborhood!" So I did. He wasn't there when I first showed up but the underling was, and what struck immediately was the intense fear, even with 2 cops standing there, that something might disturb his tour, and was told quickly that everything would be worked out. no problem. I guess they expected me to have the fear of him that they did, but they worked for him, as I saw it, and he worked for me.
But the problem that I had with him is he was selling everything he could from our city including our water to keep taxes low, but had to know in the long run it would cost our citizens more. Also, and more importantly, the under selling of city land which was purchased by the city only to be sold cheaper to his campaign donors. There are also cases of those same types of favors being done, as I recall, to go after people with petty city codes to drive them out, again, for the benefit of his donors.. As someone wrote earlier, I got the feeling he was doing everything short term so he could move on to his next gig and leave us screwed. But when you start stepping on the bigger boys toes he found out what happens. In the end, I believe he is and will be continue to be a guy who will screw our Allentown citizens over for his career and a buck if he can.

9:23 Do you honestly think our recent mayors have put in the time to earn a full time salarly? If you do you haven't been paying attention. Matt is the textbook example of why cities our size don't need full time city managers and a full time mayor. By the way, 2005 thinking of city government was much wiser than the bloated bureaucracys we see bankrupting cities today.

I was at ground zero when that bomb went off. He should, and probably does, know better than to try to resurrect his political career.

Where is MAGA Matt? We never know if he is in Allentown or visiting his friends in California.

Anonymous said...

Yes he should. He runs he will win and all the scared contenders know it.

Ed Pawlowski can drop dead and rot in hell.

The best thing he could do for Allentown is leave, and move far, far away.
