Another one

I just cant get over all the vehicular deaths in the city.  Why is this happening? Another 18year old died today after crashing his moped. My condolences.

Is this because people are riding illegally with no experience?  Or is it because the cops dont try to stop these illegal riders?  What is Chief Roca's reactive action going to be? He will probably say "we have been stepping up our traffic patrols, and have been very successful in catching illegal riders."  Yea okay buddy.

I know I speak on the mopeds/scooters/dirtbikes all the time. But wtf!  Silly Matt wants zero vehicular deaths by 2030.  Its funny he will be out of here at the beginning of 2030. I love how a guy promotes an initiative but wont even be in office to see if its successful.  You are a joke.

I dont know if me writing this late at night and sending it out does anything.  Maybe people dont like my pics/memes or the message I am sending.  Nothing seems to get done. But we will have bike lanes folks.  The dirt bikes need a lane to pass everyone in.  Another joke.  This isnt Seattle Matt. No one cares about coffee shops and bike lanes.

Here is Matts plan.

Where is Matt by the way? Has anyone seen him?  He promised safe streets for all. Sounds like the bike plan is to have increased speed bike related incidents.

Why is Frank in all the photo ops anymore?  No one wants to see him on their screen.  We want our leader.

I’d love to know the details on the fatal crash today, particularly where the two vehicles involved were coming from.

Since the installation of the speed humps at the Rose Garden and along Ott Street just north of Hamilton, motorcycle, scooter, and e-bike riders have gotten much more aggressive, as have many auto drivers.

Auto drivers are angry because they are brought practically to a halt multiple times in a short distance because some drivers practically stop to go over the bumps, some seem to speed up to minimize the effect, and others weave while trying to find the magic path through them.

Meanwhile, those on motorcycles, scooters and e-bikes seem to think that they can just drive around automobile traffic and speed through the breaks in the bumps. This creates a speed differential and an extra lane of traffic that is bound to create more accidents.

In addition, the riders of the two-wheeled vehicles have gotten more aggressive as they are able to overtake their four-wheeled counterparts as they navigate the speed bumps. That aggressiveness on the road doesn’t stop once they leave the speed bump areas, and I have to wonder if that didn’t play a role in the fatal crash of two 2-wheeled vehicles on Hamilton today.

Instead of making things better, the speed bumps and the other planned measures will only add to the dangers on the road. Auto drivers don’t like being needlessly slowed 24/7, and the speed differential and other unintended consequences created by the plan will only lead to more accidents.

The “safe street” plan is not a plan, it’s a recipe for disaster.

Usually I can identify with your posts about the City. I “was let go” from there and none too happy, and I despise the lawlessness and arrogance of those that are to me destroying the city, but this e-bike and scooter issue is nationwide. Small towns in CT are being overwhelmed as well. This problem should be addressed regionally.

Well no one knows who is running the city to fix any problems. I agree, seeing Frank Kane pop up on my phone while I'm lying in bed trying to speak on behalf of the city is outright disturbing. He knows nothing. There is no plan, nor accountability on behalf of the city officials.

Frank is a flunky that was hired by Tuerk because he was looking for a fall guy to take the blame for his destruction of Allentown. Frank fits that requirement perfectly. He had no longevity in the new Lehigh County administration. Josh didn’t want him because he had “extra curricular activities” that were questionable. His department was the weakest of all. A perfect individual for Matt’s plan.

Despite Tuerk's outlandish claims that he wants make Allentown's streets safer, I like to refer to the present state of Allentown's streets as Traffic Anarchy. There is zero enforcement of double parking, speeding and stoplight/stop sign running. Add to this that many cars with tinted windows reek of pot smoke and you have streets that are becoming way more dangerous....not safer. I watched dozens of cars and motor bikes brazenly drive through the 7th & Tilghman Streets red lights in mid morning on a recent Sunday - it was a complete free for all.

What you say is accurate to a point, but running red lights, ignoring stop signs, speeding and reckless driving seems to have become routine in the city. It's not just scooter and motorcyclist getting hit, people are getting killed in cars in Allentown. There is a much larger problem here with non enforcement of basic traffic laws. The bikes, motorcycles, and scooters are a nuisance, the lack of proper policing is the real problem. Don't blame the chief for that, the mayor is his boss, enough said, right?

Yes, I agree with you. The absolute arrogance of those who “drive” and live in the city is abominable. The “cultural” differences are what is helping kill the city.

Was one of the extra curriculars chewing like a cow?

sociopaths come in every color and creed. plenty of the large swath of people you are trying to disparage are also fed up with the noise and lawlessness. the current administration doesn’t believe that we have a quality of life issue in the city, and that’s the main issue we’re trying to solve for.

I agree that sociopaths come in all colors. I also believe that all parts of Allentown would benefit from strong enforcement of our laws. Good people of all races should be able to feel safe in their neighborhoods.

The only nation in the world that a kid of 16 can buy a motorcycle more than 50cc to kill themselves. The elites are enticing this with there help because they want less eater's in the world.

I live in West Park, it's been throughly integrated since we moved here in the early nineties. The truth is we all seem to share the same likes and dislikes, littering, noise, disruptive behavior,...anyone who thinks any of the above are cultural is the problem. Earth to you Matt.
