I know this topic is controversial but every blog is.
The topic is ICE. Not the frozen water either.
Unless you completely ignore the news, which I wish I did, you would know ICE bought a huge warehouse not too far from here to use as a detention center.
What I would like to know is what is Mayor Tuerk and Chief Roca going to do when ICE comes to Allentown and starts rounding up people? I have heard they have been here, but not making alot of noise. The D.A has shown support for ICE recently, and said he needs them to help with human trafficking etc.
We all remember how the Mayor got humbled by the President Judge of Lehigh County for attempting to tell him how to run the courthouse. Tuerk basically saying the federal ICE agents shouldnt be allowed in a PUBLIC courthouse because they are intimidating or something. He lost that.
But what happens if the agents start rounding up people on say Gordon St. What is the Mayor going to do then? (Nothing he can do) What will Chief Roca do? (Nothing, he can do)
Mayor Tuerk has stated his disgust with ICE and how he is banding with other Liberal Mayors to stop them. Good luck. ICE Agents are going to tell him there are two lanes in life. 1. Stay in his own, 2. Stay the fuck out of theirs.
Tuerk stated he wants to protect his citizens. Haha. Mayb start by not increasing taxes, the trash fees, giving raises to the inefficient department heads (I may do an individual achievement story on each department head and why they deserve their raises or why they should be reduced in salary). Then worry about ICE taking illegals who arent contributing to the city but sucking the resources.
I have only spoken to Chief Roca one time (like talking to a wall) but will he support ICE if there is a problem? I do think given the actions at the Trump rally because Trump didn't support his narrative and neither does ICE, Roca might hit a roadblock.
I will say it. Its only a matter of time before you see ICE in Allentown chasing people.
I also want to touch up on the council meeting. Its still a joke. Its sort of boring now.
It was brought up that the Allentown Parking Authority only paid the city $480 last year while philly and other cities get paid millions. Even the city of Reading gets over a million. Why is Allentown different? $480 dollars is all the city gets? How crooked is that? Who is on the board making the decisions?
Then lets talk about the clown you voted for. As mentioned before, Tuerk was in D.C during the snow storm spending our tax dollars.
The Mayors Memberships and publications fund was $482 in 2022 and now were $62,000 in 2025?
What is he spending on?
His Civic expenses were 70k In 2025 Up from 0 in 2022. Are you serious?
His little D.C conference of mayors that he attends so he feels like he has friends is a dues based organization. Guess what it costs the tax payers a year? $11,000!!! What do we get in return? Nothing. Not even a presentation of what went on or what he learned. Nope this scumbag is spending your money for his pleasure.
My girl Betty went at Tuerk over the snow. She said like 2 streets are plowed lmao. Betty its actually 4 streets. You forgot the streets around Tuerks home.
The Mayor says the city is still working round the clock with 30 trucks out there. My ass!!! What city is still cleaning snow 2 weeks after the storm??? Allentown. There is no way Tuerk is authorizing overtime for the plow trucks overnight. Plus have you seen any lately?
I almost cant even watch a council meeting anymore. The more I know the more corrupt I realize the city is. #FBI.
The guy mentioned his state of the city address and briefly stated about how the city is doing good and everything is fine. I cant. I just cant with this guy.
Oh I forgot this stupid thing. Waste of money.

The US Conference of Mayors also has another fee of $7K under professional development. It was also mentioned by the Controller that a department is consistently late in submitting travel reimbursements, which need to be submitted within 5 days. The culprit is the mayors office. More rules that don’t apply to everyone equally.
Also a separate deduction in the budget shows we paid the APA $2K, but I am not sure for what. Honestly I am not a numbers person, and I am just learning how to read budgets.
By his own admission Tuerk has focused all snow removal in the 9th District. Oh is that where the NIZ is? Well dang! What a coincidence. As to ICE, unless they are going to the NIZ they had better reserve a few parking spots with old chairs or oange cones first.
If ANOTHER STORM comes this city will be at standstill!! If the people think it’s bad now !! WAIT!!
Those membership fees are well worth it because the Mayor and his assistant get a lot of really good ideas from these seminars like how to convey your daily activities to constituents via selfie video, gateway arches to your downtown, yard waste disposal in January and February, developing the most progressive zoning ordinance in your state etc. You could make a list of many, many more brilliant ideas that improve the quality of life in Allentown that are a direct result of these membership and seminars. Besides, the Mayor gets a really cool US Conference of Mayors jacket to wear while cruising around 7 days a week in his hipster City vehicle.
If he can fake he is latinx than Trump can ship him to one of the good jails for Trump's allentown rally experience with mayor.

The $20,000,000 Recompete Grant that AEDC is managing is a real waste of taxpayer dollars. With the amount of people that they project to “help” , it comes out to over $30,000 per person with program delivery expenses. Meanwhile Scott Unger the Executive Director is pulling in $160,000+ $10,000 bonus!

Polowski must be posting for mayor Matt with the multilayered bank accounts putting money on the books up there in Danbury. This is all a very well thought out plan from the local politicians. Act as if we don’t like Ice and let’s attack them so they can attack back so they can take people out of here. More of the bigger plan to gentrify the community. Here goes the Latinos believing Tuerk’s lies but it’ll be too late now.. they’ll be deported
ICE. The Allentown mayor identifies as Cuban and hates this country. Come get him and deport him please. He may be lying about his true heritage but he can assimilate in his new country. And appropriate there
