Karen Ocasio, the former HR professional who refused to play along with the City of Allentown’s culture of discrimination, retaliation, and backroom intimidation, just delivered a slap to the individuals who have worked so hard to hide the atrocities in the city.
Federal Judge Joseph F. Leeson, Jr. has DENIED the city’s attempt to escape accountability through summary judgment. Let’s be clear about what that means:
The city tried to silence employees. The judge saw through the city’s cheap attempt. A jury trial is now officially on the horizon.
Karen’s allegations are not going away, cannot be brushed aside, and deserve to be heard by a jury who will weigh the evidence.
If the Tuerk administration genuinely believed they were innocent, they wouldn’t be fighting this hard to avoid a trial. Innocent people don’t sprint toward the exit. They don’t beg the court to make the problem disappear.
Karen stood up. The city tried to silence her. The court said not today.
Now the administration must walk into a courtroom, face a jury, and explain why a whistleblower was allegedly punished for telling the truth. Maybe I will takeva front row seat. No more hiding behind the team of city lawyers. This opens up the floodgates to expose alot.
Now more than ever, the Curtis files need to be released. The city has taken the unprecedented move to appeal the Federal Judge’s decision to release the files. WHAT are you afraid of Tuerk? WHAT are you hiding? WHO are you protecting?

Article said appeals court hearing date is scheduled for Sep. 17. If actually happens that day, will be a while until court panel deliberates, writes, and releases ruling on whether to release Curtis report.
At what point should a so-called Minority person in a city that is now over 60 percent non-White, cease to be called a Minority?
A judge will definitely release the files. They were paid by the tax payers to find out what is going on in the city with its employees.

This is what happens when you have incompetence in the legal office and HR. No one is watching out for the city. Both departments are complicit and execute the mayor’s orders without protest.
Legal has a part time Solicitor who just collects a check. The Deputy is a Temu Attorney with a law degree from a Cracker Jack box.
HR is full of friends of the mayor’s secretary and their family members. The director doesn’t even have a degree or working knowledge of HR.
And they expect us to follow the policies of these morons?
